Tricia Sellmer, born in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada,chooses to use childhood memories, stream-of-consciousness writings, conversations with intimate strangers, good friends, astonishing adventures, intense research, keen observation and her vivid imagination to connect all the coded dots within a multi-layered, multi-media art practice.
Tricia Sellmer completed a drawing marathon at the New York Studio School, New York (2007) as well arts residencies at The International School of Painting, Drawing & Sculpture, Umbria, Italy (2006) and The School of Visual Arts in New York City, New York (2003). She has studied painting at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and holds degrees from the University of British Columbia as well as Thompson Rivers University. Exhibitions of her works have been held in public and private galleries internationally.
Tricia’s work has been reviewed in numerous magazines and newspapers as well as on television and radio, including City TV in Vancouver and on Canada’s national network: the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
